vafc vs socketed ecu?
so now i am debating on wether to get a socketed chipped ecu with 3 chips OR a vafc only i really will not be able to get it tuned for a while(how much does that cost). is there a site for home/street tuning it so its ok to run on the street? let me know which i should get, tnx.

i have a socketed kenji ecu and also a vafc for more tuning.. i have a b18c1 swap, skunk2 IM, AEM CAI, Dc sports headers, apexi dunk catback, plugs, wires, and a zex kit.. what do you have done to the car? an ecu might be better for you since your more stock it looks like.. a vafc is more for tuning

is your car a daily driver, and if so how many miles do you get to a full tank? i was just wondering because i have a similar setup with a socketed custom program and i get only 250 miles to a full tank and thats all freeway driving. and i am in the process of getting a vafc installed with street tuning and was wondering how many more miles my motor is going to suck up per tank?

honestly i cant tell you that now.. the car is not running and has not run since i got the zex kit and chipped ecu.. i hope that i will get atleast 200 miles to the tank after its all good and running.

Re: vafc vs socketed ecu? (jeddy0120)
i would think it would go up since the chipped ecu is probibly running a little rich and with tuning you can get to run leaner safely, thus better milage. i could be wrong though.
my setup is a 94 civic ex d16z6 with 102,000miles on it. the most major mods are
greddy header
comp 59300 camshaft
cai
exhaust
test pipe
other than that just the basic stuff; plugs, wires, removed ac and ps.
i do plan on upping the compression with some p29 pistons so the CR will be like 12:1 where the vafc will matter more, would it help much for my setup now?
