Default VAFC on D16Z6...

I searched and for the most part it seems like everyone thinks its pointless to use a VAFC on a D16Z6 with just bolt ons(I/H/E) but I picked one up and I'd like to use it for the time being to help my car run healthier if possible. I plan on going boost this summer when I move so eventually it will get some real use. Thanks

You'll definitely need some more internals to benefit that VAFC. Just having bolt-ons and plugging in a VAFC won't do much. Your basic bolt-ons don't need that much tuning to get them to work. They work just by bolting them in. Also, don't dare tune anything yourself. You NEED dyno time with a VAFC.

Look into Uberdata and crome. Find a local tuner that can tune it for you. You will like the extra things they have over VAFC and your partial throttle (MPG too) will be a lot better.

so i emailed the seller on ebay about the cam because in his post it said that this cam would not work with stock springs and this is what i got...

'This cam, because of its design will not work well with stock springs. The stock springs will valve float under the lift of the cam.'

is there any truth to that or is he just trying to sell me on the part... thanks.

u can use it , but it makes power all the way up to 7800 or 8200 rpm, you cant take it that high though because u have stock valve springs still, but if u are planing on replaceing the spring's when u boost your car later u will be allright, just take it to 7200 no higher.
