Default VAFC

I hope this is in the right section! but i have 96 civic ex obd2 and i am going to install a turbo and i need to install my VAFC I. I havent found a forum about this yet so if someone knows where one is can you post the link on here or explain to me how to do it!?

Also i need to find out how to wire a resistor box for 450cc injectors!!

Any help would be great thanks!!!

Or sell the VAFC and gwet better engine management. The VAFC is very limited. I did the VAFC hack and it ran well, but not optimal. You're limited with tuning options. A chipped ECu will cost less and has more options. Try uberdata or chrome. If you are intent on the VAFC hack, search for the AFC Hack thread on here. It will give you settings to max out the stock MAP sensor (11-12 psi)

i got a vafc for free...i installed it basically to control VTEC engagement points and read digital RPM and manifold pressure...kinda confusing to try and use it and it sucks....thats why i run a chipped p28 with crome

1jdmferio how mutch did your chipping cost with having it all tuned.i have a vafc controller im putting in this week end, got it for $30 off some dude that crashed his car. what sucks about them? im just going to do the same thing you did and just use it for monitoring and vtec engagement

first you need to know how to tune a car. just saying i want lift at 4900 rpms and setting it at that isnt going to gain you anything. ignition and fuel should be adjusted. Its a hack tune. can a good tune be done? yes. you'll need wide band and dyno though for your best results. in which case its cheaper to run crome and have a real tuner who knows what he is doing do it with a dyno.

why would crome be cheaper? you still have to dyno it right? i got this thing for $30 and i was planning on getting it dynoed next week. for my set up i got aem intake with 3inch exhaust (with cat) apexi n1 muffler, headers, and msd ignition so far. would this be worth it to dyno it now or after i find a cam witch will be who knows how long.

well if he actually knows his way around the vafc, your lucky. most tuners wouldnt even take a **** on them. But if he doesnt and your tuning with it your either going to use whole week of dyno time to begin to learn the vafc or your car is going to leave there running like ***.

ok fuckk that i dont want my car runnin like **** and i know i dont have money for a week of dyno time, so is it still good for monitoring and vtec engagement? how mutch does crome cost?

judging by your user name, tll be cheap as ****. a local tuner may be able to chip your ecu for you being your car(ecu) is obd I, crome is a free program downloaded of the intraweb. so youll pay for the chipping socketing and tune time. which shouldnt be real long.

well you cant merely just move vtec around. the car will fall on its face most likely. to adjust vtec youll have to adjust the fuel and possibly ignition. there is different load ont he motor at different rpms.

so i just bought a digital multigauge, should i even hook up all the controlls to it or just the sensors? i.e. pressure, rpm, throttle, ect

Why bother? With a chipped ECU and a laptop you can monitor all that. I got a chipped P28, conversion harness (for my OBD2 car) and a laptop for under 400. The laptop wasnt fast, but ti ran uberdata and my NES emulators just fine

The install isnt hard, but it is rather useless. I dont know what you mean by controls though. You tap everything into the ECU wiring and it monitors from there. Then you change the settings on the VAFC.

I would have bought a VAFC for $30 too........then flipped it on ebay for more. Or find some guy who wants a dash ornament on here and sell it to them for a profit.

what iment about controls is the vtec engagement, air fuel corection, ect the wires you have to root throught the vafc, the sensors just tap into the wire without acctualy cut themaway for the ecu. i was thinking of fliping it cuase my friend wanted to buy it for $40 but i was going to buy some guages any way and the vafc is basicly half the gauges i want. thanks for all your imput
