Vacuum tank bypass???
Alright here is the story. I finally got the vaccum tank/solenoid for my gsr swap but the vacuum tank hose nipples broke off. I unscrewed the solenoid from the actual tank but my question is would I be able to just connect the two vac line that ran into the tank together without the tank so the solenoid still gets a vacuum. Would this work? Here is a drawing of what I am talking about.

Re: Vacuum tank bypass??? (mugenhatchie)
Thanks man but I live in new mexico with no smog laws (the AF took me away from cali). But yeah def thanks for the help. Just out of curiosity why it that tank even there? Why not just hook it up to direct vac? Just asking because honda does things for a reason.

The tank has a purge sensor on it for the IABs Thats why the tanks there, how it works and such you got me. "If you dont know what its for or what it does it probably for smog"

Yeah the purge is when the solenoid closes to cut vacuum to the actuator so it allows air in to "release" the actuator because if it didn't the the actuator whould still have a vacuum applied to it and would stay closed. I have the soelnoid/purge dismounted from the tank so I guess I am good. Thanks again!
