v-tech too loud, need advice
my girlfriend has a 93 del sol that we just dropped a b16g2 into and when the v-tech kicks in its kinda imbarassing. when she got the car it came with a cold air intake which ive since chopped and changed the filter to see if it could calm it down, it helped but only a little. id like to get her a stock intake but im not sure if it will still fit with the b16 as the head is so much bigger than her d16.
any advice would be cool.

i'll trade her my d16, it's much quieter. we'll call it even, no questions asked.
if that doesn't work, get the del sol vtec stock airbox from the junkyard or h-t classifieds. my short ram is the loudest of the bolt ons. i just took off my high flow cat and catback WS exhaust and it's almost as loud at WOT now.

It may be tight, but the stock airbox should fit.....
I got a buddy using a d16y8 intake on his H22a. <---(not the best setup but it works)

if the engine itself is too loud then your crazy... but my guess you have some crazy fart can on the back that multiplies the sound. if so, get a dif muffler.

LOL, so far ALL of the things that have been posted, other than the original post, I agree with. VTEC=woody/orgasim, loud VTEC= grapefuit shooter out back, and VTECH phones are awesome. Man I was walked to the other side of the house then that VTECH kicked in and I could hear my girlfriend again!

Most likely it's the exhaust you're using. You may consider adding a resonator to quiet it down. For the airbox problem, you can use an SiR, a VTEC Del Sol, or even an LS stock intake to quiet it down.

well...on a more serious note now guys i don't think it matters what type of intake you put on or whats behind the car, cuz even a stock tube with a aftermarket filter at the end of it rips VTEC into a frenzy...so i guess she's going to be ripped with lots of orgasms and you with woodys...or is it woodies?

A factory airbox and/or a quiet muffler and/or resonator will bring the sound down considerably.
