It's VTEC...and yes it is possible to put the D16Y8 head on the D16Y7 block. Do a search in the FIRST thread in this forum and you should find what you are looking for.

Yes its possible, its call MINI-ME convertion, d16y7 block with y8 tranni, ecu and head, my brother have a mini-me under the hood and it feels good, do it !
