Re: (95civickid)
i dont understand why it would not bolt up cause i took mine off of my d16z6
and put it on my friends d15b7 cause his went out on the side of highway so he could get home and it worked just fine, i'd try again if i were you just to make sure you did it the right way, just in case

VX/Si dizzys are different from others:
VTEC Dizzy p/n = 103489 001 1 DISTRIBUTOR (TD-42U)
Non-vtec Dizzy p/n = 103488 001 1 DISTRIBUTOR (TD-41U)
Look it up here: http://www.hondaautomotivepart...y.jsp
As stated by 95civickid, they don't bolt up.
ssbpturbohatch,
never seen anyone just "flip" it around and not have problems. Were you able to set the timing? Or did you just bolt it on and go?

it bolted right up and ran like it was supposed to, did not have to set timing or anything

Re: are v-tec and non-vtec dizzys different? (ssbpturbohatch)
So you didn't set the iginition timing to know if it was off or not? It's not a question of whether it functions, but whether it functions correctly. You may be able to "bolt" it on and it run, but you'll want the correct dizzy for the engine to allow proper ignition timing.
I said flip, actually I should have said rotate. Your plugs front/plugs rear statement. Still, you'll want the correct one.

Re: are v-tec and non-vtec dizzys different? (civicminded92)
as far as "fliping" of the plugs thing, i was just refering to the placement of them on the motor as 95civickid mentioned, and second, all the motors i've used it on in my car have all been timed with and without a timing gun and are all correct. So yes i can say the timing was always ok even on the side of a busy highway!

Re: are v-tec and non-vtec dizzys different? (ssbpturbohatch)
I'm relating to you what HONDA says. No more no less. I KNOW FOR A FACT THAT THIS WORKS. You may have some experience that says otherwise, and that's great. But I don't know you, nor do I trust you.
The internet is full of people with good intentions and poor information. I'm not discounting your statements, but without evidence it's just heresay....
95civickid - A D15Z1 dizzy and a D16Z6 dizzy are interchangeable. Honda says that, and I have done that. I know this works.
