Jeez! Couple of 12 years!
You both need to chill out and have some
Most of the people on this board are really cool, but will all good things come the bad so we need to acknowledge that trolls do not go away. So don't get angry if you get flamed, people are just be sarcastic or complete asses.
Poster: you made your self look like an even bigger *** to us all.
So, my question now:
What RPM do you shift at?

Thats strange that you can hear it kick in... with all the extras u got in there , like u said it should be noticible.
Unfortunetly i dont have any suggestions on this matter but the fact that you can hear it makes u wonder that maybe u have some serious work on your hands.

vtec light is the way to go, i got a d16y8 with all the boltons and i cant hear it but i can SEE it. All you have to do is tap one wire with like a led light i tihnk it is the blue pressure switch wire. WHen the light turns on the vtec is on.

Re: V-TEC ?????? (pdcivic)
i usally shift at 6700/6900 in that range. i tried to shift at 6300/6500 and i lost almost 4 tenths.
is it possible that i am sucking too much air and that is why it is running so slow?
does anyone know where/how exactly i hook up the light

If you have a '94 D16Z6 then the redline is at 7200. Try to shift there. The stock tach is off by a couple hundred RPM so you can dip it into the redline a little (as indicated on the tach) before shifting. Just don't smack the rev-limiter.

thats because your a meathead, and the stock tach is way off. oh, and i spin my d up to 8300, but im not stock.
as for shifting, shift when it stops making power. if you hit the rev limiter first, then think about getting a chip for the ecu. bouncing off the rev limiter isnt going to hurt that motor.

Re: V-TEC ?????? (Zer0DazE)
The thing isnt where to shift, the problem is that i dont think the vtec is comming on. i know i heaard it once this year this spring but i cant say thata i did the rest of this summer. what i am looking for is a way to find out for sure if the vtec is accually comming on. if i hook up a light isnt that reading form the computer, if thats the case then he solenoid could still be bad and the light will still turn on, am i correct, prob not but i am really lost. i know i should be hearin it kick on. i aint trying to sound like a dick but this is starting to suck and i dont know what to do know.

i agree, the vtec kicking in on a d-series is less noticable than lets say a...b16. i noticed between my friends car though the loudest vtec engageguagement came out of my friends b16 compared to a b18c
now a b16 with itb........ ::shivvers: X_x
trogdor the burninator! whitness is grace, and majesty. lol

Re: V-TEC ?????? (SLOAZZ94)
To go ahead and end this silly topic. The Vtec for the sohc vtec D16Z6 and Y8 is on the intake side(valves not cams), that's why when you only have an intake you can hear the switchover loud and clear, but when you add an exhaust that kind takes away from the sound of vtec. If you really want to prove this theory, either find you someone with that engine and intake only, or unbolt your exhaust and bolt the stock one back up.
Now that you have an exhaust, the sound of vtec changes alot, now it just sounds like the engine gets louder at the switchover.
