v tec
I have a 94 civic ex coupe and my vtec dont seem to open unless it is at full throttle. i was wondering if they have a full throttle safety mechanism or something? My rev limiter acts funny too, it sometimes catches at 6500, or 6800 what is up with that?

Re: v tec (inline4wHORE)
i didnt think vtec was supposed to kick unless your at full throttle...and why would you want to hit vtec and half throttle? sounds pretty pointless to me.

94 EX
VTEC
4813 - high load
5500 - low load
7411 - revlimiter
sounds like you're either hearing something else or your tach is WAY off.
make sure you don't have a P06 instead of a P28. (P06's revlimiter is around there)
If you do have a P28, is it chipped? (revlimiter and VTEC points can be changed easily)

Re: (Relic1)
i am pretty sure it is a p28. the only time my car has ever seen 7400 was when i put the good gas in it and the tach bounced from 7 to 7400.

sorry to butt in, but don't you think its bad to hit rev-limiter at 7400 or 7411 when our cars redline at 7200?
