V band exhaust tubing and universal mufflers
I'm looking to redo my exhaust on my turbo eg. I wanna go three inch with a high flow car and I was wondering if anyone knew of v band exhaust tubing. My friend has some on his supra but its ebay stuff and I am not a believer in eBay stuff. The reason I'm lookin for v band is I don't have a welder and the shops here charge a ton just to weld kits like kteller has together. Also I'm wondering if anyone here has used a Nrg muffler? Any input would be appreciated.

People keep asking this question as if my definition of quiet is the same as yours or anyone else's. Go to Youtube and listen to sound clips. With a 3" exhaust you're going to be a bit loud.

you're gonna have to have v-band's welded to any piping kit you use. there is no mass produced kit with v-bands already welded on. vibrant makes awesome stuff.
it cost me over $600 to have my stainless kit welded up. quit complaining.

That's a good idea to look on YouTube thanks. I'm not complaining just trying to do it as cheap and best as possible and thought some people on here may know of something like that.

1. Learn how to wield it is really simple.
2. Loud to you may not be loud to me but MagnaFlow makes a nice quiet 3" muffler and adding a resonator will help kkep the tome down. I run a 2.5" no resonators, stock cat and Apex style muffler and I dont feel it is too loud, on a NA motor though.

that's never possible when dealing with cars. you want cheap? take it to hector down the street and he'll MIG weld the thing together and it'll look like somebody threw up on it and it'll probably break at the welds.
you want the best? take it to an experienced exhaust shop that will TIG weld and tuck it up nice and tight to the under body.

I didn say he did I'm just saying there is a difference. I'm a machinest and see how much prices get jacked up from the parts we make where I work and I'm just saying why buy a hks ball bearing turbo when a precision journal bearing is just fine for some people. It's all what your plans are with your own car.

Then you sir, are at an impasse. There are no V-banded exhaust systems and you seem to have an aversion to a shop welding one together.

I know which is why I asked if anybody knew of such a thing and I appreciate the help I just was trying to search out cheaper alternatives before dropping the money.

I have no problem with them doing it. I'd do it myself if I could but I don't think the owner of my apartment complex would appreciate me doing it in their parking lot.

Re: V band exhaust tubing and universal mufflers
why are you stuck on v-bands anyway? how often are you taking off the exhaust that they'd be a benefit to you?
i only have one at the header/exhaust connection because it's what came on my custom header. i wanted a fully v-banded system too, but the price for one set of flanges and clamp turned me off real fast.

It would be a nice way to put an exhaust system up under a car but i think you would still end up spending money to have a welder cut the system to fit and weld the flanges on for the clamps. But after that is done it could be bolted up anywhere and taken off at any time with a relatively painless effort.

I get lazy and just park my car on a ramp in the garage and just chop and fit then TIG weld everything up while laying on my back.
