Default using washers as wheel spacers?

i just got a set of 16x7.5 rims and the rear wheels rub against the upper control arm.. i put in some washers (maybe 3mm) and it stopped the rubbing..

should i just file down the control arm and get rid of the washers? or get proper spacers? or leave as is?

thanks in advance

You`ll shoot your eye out, kid!

Do not do stupid thing. Spend the money to do it right and don`t kill the person next to you in the process of your sad attempt at DIY.
