Could anyone tell me if you can use LS rods in a d-series motor? Thats what I heard. You can use them if they are shaved. Is this true and if it is where do they need to be shaved at? Also can Suzuki Vitara pistons be used? (Heard that too)

ive heard of the ls rods being swapped. there was a thread on here somewhere that discussed it in detail. all i can say is look around. its really not worth the amount of time you will have in it. but if thats what you have your heart set on, look around and find that thread

I was just wondering I read it on either turbo civic.com forum or the d-series.org forum, can't remember. I am new to the hondas so I didnt know. I WAS a chevy man.

Buy forged internals and get it over with.

You can use Suzuki pistons, not sure on the LS rods.

LS rods will fit on the crank but will shoot out the top of the block.

the rods are the same length, but I think they are too wide at the base where the connect to the crank. they need to be milled a little thinner.

I've heard of the suzuki pistons being used too. they aren't forged though. I don't know what the benefit of using them is.

The LS rods can be used...

I think the crank side is the same as well as the length.

I think Crower actually sells a bushing for the top where the wrist pin goes.

you can use the older ls rods. they are much stronger than the stock d-series one. i believe it to be the d16a1 ls rods. comes from the 87-89 older integras. i've use them before. i've used the rods and pistons... give you a high compression motor in a honda d16 motor. pulls pretty damn good too.

u could just order some eagle rods, an vitara pistons, have no fitment issues, no wrist pin issues, and have a piston/rod combo that will blow any stock rod/piston setup out of the fukcin water.... IMO...

Its more trouble than its worth. After all the machining cost you could have bought yourself a cheap set of tunertoys rods or scat and have forged rods instead of ls rods.

Vitara pistons can also be used and have been proven to work past 400+hp. cheap too. you can usually find a set around 100 bucks.

wait im pretty sure you have this completely opposite...

D16 has LONGER stroke ratio which is why it provides better Torque then B series motors.
