Used MANUAL EG rack and pinion
Im gonna buy one on my local junkyard for my EG.....my only problem is that how would i check it if its in good conditon or its already messed up?

junkyard manual rack, WHY, they arent much more remaned.
if you must really need my opinion, here it is: a manual rack and pinion is SELF lubricated, and as long as its not leaking externally, it will likely be in fine shape.

Do they have the keys to the car? Maybe you can get in and physically turn the wheel back and forth to see if there is movement?

You will also want to check the integrity of the inner tie rod ends. Jack up the car by the control arm and shake the wheel side to side. There should be ZERO play. Also check to make sure that there is no fluid in the boots on either side. People get burned a lot on that because they think that fluid ought to be there. grab a hold of the boot and wiggle it around to see if you can feel or hear fluid moving around in it.
