Default Use obd2b P75 to run 99' D16y7 to get through Inspection?

I have a 99' LX w/ a D16y7 but, the old owner put a y8 mani on it. It's using the 3 wire IACV on a P2E ecu but, the idle is crazy and I'm super stumped. I want to retain a non-vtec ECU and run a 2 wire IACV and the only non-vtec ecu that supports the 2 wire from 99-00 would be a P75. This 3 wire **** is pissing me off badly and I've NEVER been unable to fix a problem w/ my vehicles. If anyoner has had to do something similar LMK. This is just a temp. fix to get the car through inspection and registered then it will be switched to OBD1. I hate OBD2!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

i don't see why that wouldn't work.
what kind of inspection is it?i'm pretty sure the P75 will be super rich on that engine, and make you fail any kind of smog test.

Here in DE they hook the scanner up to the serial port so, It may have to be an obd2b ecu or I'll fail for that(not 100% sure). I was thinking that the O2's would keep the Air/Fuel Ratio somewhat under control.

so,they're just looking for trouble codes?in that case,it should be no problem.
do they do a visual inspection to verify it's the proper ECU for the engine?
the A/F should be close at partial throttle.the WOT maps will probably be way off.

They don't visually inspect the ECU so, I'm thinking all will be well. I put the converison harness in, Did the 2 wire conversion and threw a P05 in it. It runs great but, is down on power(Due to P05 maps I'm sure). I'll see tomorrow or Tue. if it makes it through isnpection. Thanks.

If your inspection station has to hook up an OBD2 scantool to the port, isn't a P05 OBD1??

No dice there.

The hook into the serial port. I'm not sure if this will work or not but, at least the car is running better now and I can drive it w/o getting pissed. I'm not sure if that P2e was junk or If I just had 2 bad IACV's but, the swap to the 2 wire fixed everything. I knew just from searching through other 3-2 wire conversions you'd be coming in here EF_Chris . Wish me luck.
