Use hoodpins or not?
I dont like the look of hood pins. Heres the problem I have a CF hood color matched to my car. I am a man of functionality. I hate hood pins. Can i go without hood pins and be safe. Its a Fiber Images. Just need some opinions.

here's a shot of mine..
my hood latch is messed up and the latch handle broke, was too lazy to fix it up so i put hood pins on.

I've been thinking about putting some sort of removable cable on the underside of mine, and attaching it to the rad support, instead of using hoodpins.

If the cable isn't coming through the outer surface of the hood, it still won't be providing the added safety that hood pins provide.

i'm sure you'll have some people who'll say "i've never had them, never had any problems"......yet.
i didn't put any pins in my hood for a few weeks at first.i drove around cringing the whole time, just waiting for it to break...
if you want something a little smoother looking, use the hood locks, and get the washer part either painted or powder coated to match the hood-this will be much less noticable.

Function always over form. It may look funky, but it can prevent you having the hood fly up a highway speeds and destroying your windshield and a-pillars.

AFAIK they only come in chrome-plated.it shouldn't cost much at all though to either get them powder-coated or painted.
