Use of dielectric grease

Use of dielectric grease (spark plugs & distributor)
Do you apply dielectric grease when you change your plug wires and distributor cap? I will be changing the plugs, wires, distributor and rotor on my gf 98 civic soon and was curious.

Re: Use of dielectric grease (philpsu)
I do. I got really pissed off that when I went to change the plug's and pulled off the clips from the wires to the plugs.
So I use it on everything from cap to plugs, top of rotor, and even battery posts.
No more oxidation for me.
Do yourself a favor and also get anti-seize for your plug threads. I use this on lugnuts, O2 sensors, and exhaust bolts. Keeps them from rusting.
Two good tool's that are not really tools.

Re: (philpsu)
Sometimes when you buy a new cap and rotor they provide a little "pill" with
di-grease in it but they don't tell you where to put it.
Put a dab on the top of the rotor where the cap button touches the rotor, and I lightly coated the button from the coil to the cap too.
I guess it is an ancient Chinese/mechanic secret

if you haven't done so in a while - change your distributor cap, rotor button, plug wires, and plugs
