Default USDM Si Vs. JDM D15b Tranny

I have a usdm si tranny right now in my 96 hatchback. Im gonna be ordering a d15b and was wondering if i should pick up the tranny for 250.00 more and have a low mileage tranny. Are they geared the same? I want the shortest geared tranny i can get, because im gonna be boosting the d15b in the future. So should i stick with the si or get a d15b tranny?
