my buddy is gonna let me use his old skunk 2 chip from his usdm p28 for my jdm p30 but im not sure if i can use it because we have diffrent ecu's does anyone know if we can just swap them or do i have to get a specific program for my ecu?

what he has is a little skunk 2 chip its probally about 2 inches long he has the katman chip in his ecu right now he was wondering if he gave me the skunk 2 chip thats made for his usdm p28 will it work if we snap it into my jdm p30? i dont think swapping ecu's is going to answer anything but maybe im mising the point or somthing

certian programs are interchangble and will work in many platforms. since skunk2 is a rip-off of Mugen chip. it was orignally designed for JDM P08/P30 ECu and does work in P28, P91, p72, P61 without any problems. just make sure you have all the necessary parts installed

Sorry, misunderstood. I thought the chip was IN his ECU. Just stating that it would be simpler to swap the whole computer. Not sure if it would work in a jspec comp, don't see why not, you might contact Skunk and ask them for a definate answer, to make sure nothing goes wrong.

what necessary parts do i need installed?

right now my car is pretty much intake header testpipe and ct back exhaust with v-afc but ina few weeks im gonna start reworking the head with jun/toda pieces

sell your p30 for alot of $$$ on ebay and buy a p28 and chip it and use the rest of the money for your new had parts.
