USDM or JDM B18B?
i am looking to do a b18b swap into my 95 civic. my question is do i want the jdm swap (145 hp 127 trq with 9.4:1 compression ratio) or the usdm swap (142 hp 127 trq and 9.2:1 compression ratio)? i plan on boosting my car to run about 8 psi when its tuned i was just wonder what one will handle boost better and longer.

well im not sure but i would think that the usdm on would be better for boost and the jdm one would be better for all-motor. due to the slight difference in compression ratio. if you really want to get down to it i dontthink it really will mae that big of a difference. but bump for some more experience on this! good luck with your choice!

The USDM motor will come with an engine harness that will plug directly into your existing chassis harness. The JDM motor's wire harness won't work on your left hand drive civic since it's for a right hand drive car. You will then need to modify/re-wire your existing D series harness.
It's also a plus that you know the exact mileage on the USDM motor too. A JDM motor cannot be verified, so you really have no idea...
Just some food for though.

Nicely put 94eg I'd pick the USDM model do to the wiring harness, smog equipment already on the engine, mileage known compared to JDM version. Work smarter not harder.
