i highly recommend the enrgy suspension stabilizer bushings. i just recently instaleed them in my sol and the difference is night and day. the shifts feel alot more positive, the shifter feels tighter, its alot more solid when put into gear, ie no more play when youre in gear, and for 19 bucks with shipping from summit you cant go wrong IMO.

i did instal it myself. it was easy except the bushings that are connected to the tranny will give you ****. they are a 2 piece bushing that you put a metal tube through. it was hard as hell to get in. i ended up using my vice and 2 small pieces of wood to press them in. this is for d series though. b series is super easy since that bushing is one piece. a tip for ya: i recommend that you unbolt the linkage from the shifter and remove the stabilizer bar with the shifter intact. just put the linkage of to the side and pull the other rod right out. it will be a lot easier to install them this way.

it should've tooken me about 30 minutes tops to do this job, but it ended up taking me 2 hours just trying to force that bushing into the stabilizer bar. so finally i just took a razor and trimmed the edges and lubed the hell out of it so it would slide in.
conclusion - it was soo worth the $30 i spent (
) and headaches of puttin it in. my shifts feel so crisp in every gear now.

Wouldn't using a razor almost defeat the purpose of the bushing? Just a guess.
Pep Boys stocks ES bushings, and normally has Honda Shift Linkage bushings in.

lol, i just did my bushings last friday. i used the same method that reddelsol si used.
its a bitch putting them in by hand so i went ahead and used a vice and it poped in with a little persuading of a small flathead screwdriver, also getting it back ontot he tranny was a pain for me cause it didnt want to align with the bolt holes and the bushings started to expand, so adjusting was hard. as far as shifter feel, wow, it basically *pops* itself into gear, theres a little more resistance but definately more precise and less play. and del sol shifters have a fairle small throw to begin with so thats always a plus
the lubricant is like an adhesive though
very sticky

You can do this with hand tools. Jack the car up, have a wratchet with a 12mm and extension (to get bushing under shifter) and a 12mm wrench to get the bushings at the tranny. I didn't have a problem getting the new bushings in at the tranny and the metal tube slid right in. However I did have a lot of trouble lining the bushings back up to mount back into the tranny. You have to line them up to get the screw back in to hold everythign in place. I used the ES bushings.
I did this while installing a new exhaust, so it was pretty easy without a resonator in the way

get the hardest bushings you can.
although.. I dont know how your going to tell which is harder without having them side by side.
but yeah, sould make shifting feel less "gummy" and click into place.
