upper control arm question
i have a 1998 civic coupe and am in the middle of installing tein colivers on it. i bought new ksport upper control arms w/ adjustable ball joints. does any one know how tight to get the control arm bolts? does the arm have to be stiff or loose. any help would be greatly appreciated. thanks in advance!!

Re: upper control arm question (iwanttogofast)
not sure how tight they need to be but i firmed mine up as hard as i could...
as to when to tighten them IMO its best to put the suspension under the weight of the car so its got all the weight it should at rest and then tighten down the control arm bolts.
at least thats how i do mine... because if you tighten them down at full droop when the suspension compresses its gonna try to tear the bushing around the steel sleeve. that cannt be good!
i just kinda loosly snug all the bolts then put a jack under the control arm and verly lift the car off the jackstand and then i crank all the bolts down good. that way the bushing is right in the middle from droop and compresed.
