Upgrading front brakes

Upgrading front brakes
Currently my front rotors are warped and pads are almost gone. I was wondering if I should go ahead and upgrade the front brakes to Integra ones or should I just get new rotors and brake pads? If I do upgrade to integra brakes, do I have to grind down the calipers to for HX wheels to fit? I know 14" steelies fit.

Re: Upgrading front brakes (Cuong-nutz)
i am running brembo rotors and axxis metal master pads in stock size. the setup easily out brakes my 15" yoko es100 tires. that said i really don't see the need to upgrade beyond a decent set of replacement pads and rotors.

Also to add in, the last time I checked, the driver side rotor screws were all boogered up. I'm not sure if I'll be able to remove them
If I can get the screws off, Should I just go with the Brembo blanks and axxis pads or some OE type replacements? Where can I get the blanks and pads from?

how bad are they boogered? if the rotor is already trash you can use a cutting wheel and slot the head of the screw allowing you to use a larger flat head screw driver.
you can always do what it did, drill the head off of the screw... you don't need them anyway...

well, the wheel holds the rotor on right?
i heard, but not sure how true it is, that the screws that hold the rotors on are there to prevent the rotors from falling off the car when it is on the assembly line. they may also aid in centering the rotor on the hub but i have never had any problems not using them.
i use the screws when they are in good shape, but don't get concerned when i need to drill them out. i have no screws on any of the rotors on my del sol...

http://www.hmotorsonline.com sells them for $75 + shipping. Pretty much any used brake assembly you will buy will have to have the rotors, pads and hardware replaced, so keep that in mind. If you have a 92-95, you will also need a 15/16ths master cylinder from a 91 civic EX 4-door. The stock 13/16th MC won't push enough fluid for the bigger caliper. If you have a 96+ civic (since you didn't specifiy), you will have to figure out which bigger MC bolts on.
The srews just hold the rotors in place when the wheels are off. To remove them you need a special screwdriver that has the steel shaft sticking out of the handle. If you strike then end with a hammer while twisting the screw, it will break loose.

Re: Upgrading front brakes (Cuong-nutz)
If you you're hard on your brakes(racing, etc.), upgrade to brembo and good pads, otherwise, stick with stock. As far as wheel clearances, I've heard from some others that the Integra brakes and HX wheels don't clear without spacers. Good luck!

Re: (94eg!)
I guess I'll get some new rotors and pads. Can't really see a need for additional stopping power at the time being.
Where can I get some cheap Brembo blank replacements? This is for my 94 hatchback.

Brembo blanks at http://www.nopi.com are priced right. They also sell axxis ultimates pads for a good price. With that combo, and some good brake fluid, you'll be set.
