Upgraded ground cables (earthen grounding)
I have the common civic problem of low idle.
Two scenarios:
1. Anyone heard of an earthen grounding system? suppose to give an extra HP and better throttle response. You get rid of the crap ground wires from the engine to the frame, and put in like 8 gauge high quality speaker wire. i got a 96 civic LX sedan (D16Y7). I have 3 8 gauge grounds, 2 from the valve cover and 1 from the water pump. after that, the car was good. i replaced the tranny ground wire with a 4 gauge one. The head was a tad smaller, but the wire was bigger and i cleaned all contact points with steel wool. The idle when driving falls to like 800 then baco to 1000. when the A/C is on, when driving the clutch goes in, the rpms fall to like 700, and stay there. its idling lower than it used to when Im moving and leaving the clutch in for a bit (to change gears or to coast in neutral.) is this lower cruising idle bad?
2. My 2nd 02 sensor is reading 800mv all the time. the 1st O2 sensor is switcing too slow. no trouble codes, i passed emissions. im having no driveablility problems. any advice?
Mike

Re: Upgraded ground cables (Civic96LX)
sounds normal to me The thing about ground kits is it can make your lights brighter, your music louder, your ignition start up better, but it does not theoretically increase horesepower even though dyno charts have showed it having increase in hp. The key thing is, is that it "Recovers lost HP" which in eccense is what the hp gains come from, lost power that you once had.

Oh yeah, I guess it can make you pull a little harder too, but again, it's just recoving once you once were able to do.
*But none the less, it deosn't hurt at all to upgrade the grounds*

I did this for my ITR, what's your opinion?
2m of Norauto 10mm section battery cable and 6 Norauto gold plated terminals for 10mm section cables (17 euros in total).
I replaced the two engine ground cables and connected directly the battery ground cable to one of the engine ground cables.
For me this is the best solution instead of connecting a spaghetti mess of cables everywhere in the engine bay or buying a more expensive ground stabilizer.
