Default upgrade brakes?

i have a 94 civic dx 4dr w/ everything stock except for i/h/e. I need new front rotors and brake pads. Is it worth it to spend the extra money for an aftermarket brake setup or should i just stay with the oem replacements? I can get the oem replacement for about $50-60.

depending on if you wanna upgrade the motor in the future or if you just plainly wanna stop faster. the faster you go, the faster your gonna need/want to stop. i have brembo rotors with ebc greenstuff pads and to me it was worth the money over stock brakes.

By OEM do u mean OEM Honda from the dealer? Getting aftermarket replacement rotors would be cheaper than OEM anything. Just get Auto Zone or Pep Boys generic rotors in the stock size but get a good set of aftermarket brake pads. I recommend Hawk HPS. Also get a brake fluid flush if you haven't done that in the last 2 years. This should be more than enough braking power for a stock or lightly modded Honda.

my car has 165k miels on it....should i replace the drums too....the don't look like they've ever been touched. I know that the drums do like only 20% braking but would it be a good idea to replace the back ones anyways?

Powerwise, you dont need to upgrade your braking system if they work fine and dont squeak, But im a big advocate of upgrading braking, because lets face it, no one would decline better brakes.

If you want a better braking system, just port over some integra brakes. Otherwise there wont be a significant difference. Check the FAQ for how to swap civic brakes with integra ones
