Updates on Rear 2-Piston Upgrade with Wilwood Calipers
After a couple e-mails with Brian of Fastbrakes he has decided that the kit will be able to be made. The only thing the kit will not have is a parking brake. He said that with the parking brake it would take too much time and money to design the kit. The kit will use a 10.9" rotor and will use a wilwood 2-piston caliper. He said pricing will be 425.00 for the complete kit ready to bolt up. Please let me know if you are interested. I am already looking at options for adding a parking brake later for those that need one.

It really should have a parking brake. Thats an awesome price though. Do they make a 2 piston for ITR brakes?

Well I do know that every car does need a parking brake, its the law.
From the CA VC:
26450. Every motor vehicle shall be equipped with a service brake system and every motor vehicle, other than a motorcycle, shall be equipped with a parking brake system. Both the service brake and parking brake shall be separately applied.
If the two systems are connected in any way, they shall be so constructed that failure of any one part, except failure in the drums, brakeshoes, or other mechanical parts of the wheel brake assemblies, shall not leave the motor vehicle without operative brakes.
I know on a project car at school, we fabricated some brackets that were mounted on the other side of the hub. We only mounted them when the car was driven on the street but at competition, we would remove the separate system to reduce the unsprung weight. The same thing could be done with this kit for track cars but a permanent solution would have to be found in order to use this kit on a street driven car.

Re: Updates on Rear 2-Piston Upgrade with Wilwood Calipers (LANL02)
brian does not want to use the parking brake becuahe feels there is not enough of a demand ot justify the development of the kit. I am looking at another comapny and they will be using a mechanical spot caliper on one side to use as aparking brake, maybe both sides. I am trying my best to get the kit made and have it be streetable. The idea of teh spot caliper on the opposite side of the regular caliper is an idea I was thinking of.
