updated news on my ls/vtec...
hey guys had to write that title... he he he...
i know this belongs to the crx/ef forum but i started it here so here`s the update for those who asked about crane cams and ls/vtec numbers....
he is my mechanic that did my swap. and my updated info is that i`m going to take my hatch to the dyno in the next week to tune it up... so i`ll keep you informed guys..
this is my friends rex with ls/vtec all motor running on alcohol
and here`s the engine shot
so his project did 12.21@106mph with out cams
and he`s now doing 11.76@111mph with my borrowed crane cams stage 3
and all that, with ys1 tranny... so now a days he put a willie bar and a y1 tranny and went this night to the track..(**** i had work, couldn`t go) so hope he`ll do fine i`ll keep you updated...
and here`s my egg for those who don`t know me... (cheap excuse to post pics)
i`m sorry again tom but felt like i had to do it..

hey man nice hatch...what kinda suspension are you running??? what drop is that...i like the height on it...i have a white hb too and i want it around that height

I didn't noticed this untill i looked for the third time.
What the hell is that line comming out of the valve cover from the left.
and dude where is the radiator, i know on rex its big radiator like tegs.

It's probably going to a catchcan... some people tap another hole in the valve cover so the engine can breath better since LS block doesnt have the PCV system...

You are correct about the catch can, however some LS blocks do have the PCV system. My 92 LS block has the system, I am not sure what year they removed them but my friends 98 does not have it.

i don`t know what happened but i remember that i answered your question... don`t know what happened to the post.. but i`m gonna answer it again...
that line used to be attached to the header so the head gases can escape well...
but we noticed that oil was being wasted into that line too, cause oil pressure was killer... so he decided to deattach it from the header and take it to a home made oil catch can....
and the rex is a 89 si.
hope that answers all your quest.. so far...
btw in the pic the line was still attached to the header... now it goes to the opposite side to the catch can.
notice the home made air filter tube
oh i almost forget... the radiator isn`t in need cause the car runs on alcohol and for drag purposes only so the car doesn`t overheat anyways...
