Default Update on accident with civic...

https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=1041439

I had some inquiries in that thread. My friend took the car to this body shop and they said "Okay we're going to have to replace the fender, it's bent, and maybe we have to replace the bumper. They want 1100 CDN, which is like 800 USD! Is that BS or am I just out of luck? I'm going to check some other shops, but opinions?

If you need to have replaced is the fender and bumper... Why don't you pay to have it painted and install it yourself? Labor is probably 70% of the cost on that estimate you got. Just replace it yourself, you'll save money, and it's fun.

Ok I checked my books and an aftermarket bumper would run you $150. Painting it should be about $120-150. An aftermarket fender would run you $122 and to paint about another $75. Installed should be another $50-100 depending on where you go.

That adds up to about $517 for the absolutely cheapest way out. But the shops in your area may charge a bit more if you want to color-match and blend.

Mike!

I don't know about this...

TO replace my pass fender, hood, front bumper, and get the front of the frame straightened, without labor, but with painting was 2000.

that price is def a little bit high. i'm sure you can go somewhere else and shave off a hundred bucs or so but then again with body shops you pretty much get what you pay for unless you know someone

but with only needing a fender and bumper i'd call around and get some more estimates if i were you
