up for a semi rebuild?
Got my engine a while ago from craigslist! Iknow its stupid but i saw it running...got it for real cheap! Its a 2000 b18c1 but the thing burned oil like crazy! I pulled the head out.. had the machine shop check everything out do valve seals and all the good stuff. I also put a new headgasket (duh).
After the head was done it was fine for a couple of months but now it's burning and insane amount of oil. I'm guessing oil rings. Cylinders 2 - 3 burns like crazy! Now i'm planning on doing the rings.
What would i need? I'm getting 4 rings sets, headgasket, timing belt. you guys thing i should get new bearings? or is it not needed?

Re: up for a semi rebuild?
first do a compression test. if you've got good compression, then it might be your valve seals again if they weren't (properly) done by a reputable machine shop.
well, what you need is a full ring set, do one do all. Also if there isnt enough cross-hatching (sp??) left on the cylinder walls the new rings wont seat properly, you'll have to get the cylinders honed. which means new pistons, etc.
you might be looking at a full bottem end re-build. or find yourself a new bottem end.
