Unlock My Doors
1994 Honda Civic Si (Hatchback)
I need some automatic door locks (keyless entry).
If you know where I can get some and they come with a diagram how to install them that would really help.

They sell them with the set and they're like $100 for a single (it makes more sense to sell them as a pair but I haven't found them). I really don't want to get ripped off when I know that I can pay less. I just don't know where.

Just get some used OEM doorlocks from some salvage yard or something. Fitment and placement is much better than them barrel doorlock actuators.

In San Diego a car goings to the junkyard and is instantly stripped. I could get OEM ones that would fit better but I would spend a grip. I might go to the dealership if this thread doesn't turn anything up.

You can get cheapy actuators and have them hooked up to an alarm. I did it myself and it wasnt that bad.
Be forewarned. Aftermarket actuators ARE going to break your doorlocks so you can't use them from the inside.

Was your car doors acting the same after all of this. I mean you have to keep the battery in the remote running good. Cause the doors won't open up from the outside either right?

Yes, you can still unlock the car with the key, but the alarm is giong to go off. You'll need to know the routine for starting the car with the valet switch should the alarm ever die on you. I've had the same batteries in my Viper remote for like 3 years and it's been fine.

If you disconnect part of the interior doorlock you'll end up with what he's talking about. I know a local guy that did it to help beef up his security. Adding actuators is not going to change anything except for the fact you can unlock the car with the alarm.

That's what I want, I want to make it hard as hell to get in and out of the car without a remote. You know, at least make the criminals sit there a little bit longer.

I don't know how difficult it would be to pull off what you're trying. The "arm" of the whole locking mechanism that needs to be removed to get the effect you're after is what I have my actuator attached to.

Check out an Italian company called SPAL. I just installed keyless entry auto locks into my 91 4dr. It took awhile, just because the front door locks are ******* screwed up inside from the factory, but i got it in, and it works great. MAX $200US on ebay.
