Default Universal breathers for the valve cover?

I was wondering if anybody knows if the breathers really help for performance or if I should just leave the hose running from my CAI to the Valve cover?

If the breathers really do help should I put one on the CAI also.

I've seen the breathers on some cars but I didnt know if they would help or not or if it is worth it. Thanks for helping!

I gained .5ftlb on the dyno when I reattached the hose.

all the hose does is suck crankcase fumes back into the intake right? Also I notice that sometimes oil gunk goes thru this hose back into the intake. I thought fresh air would be better?

yes, by just placing a small filter on the valve cover it will stop your intake manifold from getting all gummed up with oily residue. Because it is a pollution control function I don't think you can just pop a filter on there if you have emission testing in your area.

yeah, best thing to do is have an oil-catch tank in between the two spots...I have almost a 1/8th of a quart in mine right now...
