Default Undiscussed ITR 5 bolt question...

After searching i didn't find any information on this but does anybody know how much weight i'd be adding on with a 5 bolt conversion with the itr rims, on my DX hatch after swapping the front discs and rear drums and steelies. What's the diff in weight approx?

any weight that you add is worth it in the benefits it will offer you

bigger brakes
stiffer bushings
newer parts

I understand that but i need detail because weight is crucial in my case.

Because i am going N/A and weight matters. If i was to go with turbo or something where weight isn't as crucial i wouldn't care, but i have stripped a lot of things out of my car and i would hate to see the ITR 5 bolt make up all that weight. All my work out the window in a way.

believe us when we tell you a 5 lug swap is all worth it if you are into any type of racing or driving OTHER THAN DRAGGING.

Ok, we have that down, it's worth it, suspension/braking power, blah blah i understand that clearly. HOW ABOUT THE WEIGHT?

Because i am going N/A and weight matters.
so when you have a fully built "NA" motor your car will stop itself?

if you wanna know the EXACT weight why dont you buy the parts and weigh them all before the install.

I myself have taken all the steps to lighten my car extensively , becasue a lighter car will handle better on the track (which is where it spends alot of its time) but not once did I even think about the weight I was adding when I put my larger brakes on or rear swaybar

you NEED brakes to stop.
it is weight you shouldnt be concerned with.

You are right, and i totally agree. I am most likely going to go through with this as i am getting a great deal on the whole suspension...but there is nothing wrong with being curious.

If you're just dragging, don't bother. Stock set-up with good pads/fluid/rotors will slow you down just fine.

That's the problem, IT'S not slowing me down just fine. These brakes scare me sometimes.

I really think you should upgrade the pads , flush the fluid and that will be all you need.

Well, i am using OEM pads, the fluid was flushed twice already in attempt for better pedal feel I was wrong, after flushing the brake fluid (properly both times) in a 3 month interval i didn't seem to get the results i wanted. Either way it's time to upgrade, the front discs are not cutting these days. Also, after racing, for example, after 3 runs, one right after the other up to 170-180 km/h my brakes give up completely. They barely stop, i am assuming because of the heat. It's so bad that it feels like i DON'T have power brakes.

Can't remember what fluid it was, bought it at a local automotive store. What are the best pads out there for the price? Hawk HP is good from what i hear, but kind of pricey.

why not just upgrade the fronts to GSR brakes, and the rear to 92-95 Si discs, or leave the drums. This should slow you down fine. I don't care what size rotor/caliper setup you have going. It's the pads that's doing the stopping.
