Default ultimate tar removal guide!!!

Yes this is a question, and hopefully this will finally set a lot of rumors aside... at least for a day or so... I have been looking for the best way to shave lbs. recently and started to take the tar out of my ek... Well as most of you already have experienced, it is a BIOOOOTCH... One thing which i have already learned and will contribute- the colder it is outside the easier it will be to get big chunks of it..MMMMM...tar. well i have heard these following things, can someone who REALLY knows please dispel any rumors and clarify on the topics.
1.) lighter fluid? raising the oh-so obvious question... SAFE?
2.)dry ice- i can understand that (but how exactly) also i heard pour alcohol on it while it is crushed and sitting on the tar-no joke!
3.)hammer, chisel, & simple green or whatever it is, which i have personally tried on the leftover black gunk but does not come off at all...
if you can clarify this you will be H-T GOD.. maybe. thanx in advance

I've tried everything but the lighter fluid, and lighter fluid isn't that abrasive. Heat guns suck.

Dry ice is the key. I just leave the dry ice in the bag and set it on top of the area I plan to work on. Let it sit for a few minutes.

Tap the area firmly with a hammer to break it up then use a chisel & hammer to work from the edges. Patience.

Use 3M Tar Remover to clean up the left-over residue.

I have done 3 cars this way, all in one night with the help of a friend or two.

on your floor board, under the rear seats, and a little in your trunk.

CX = no rear tar. it should be in the driver/passenger foot areas and behind them too when you take out the seats. there is some behind that firewall matt too..

No that has tar all over it. I shaved like 12lbs when I removed all my tar from my 00 cx hb. It took me about 2 hrs. Very clean and fast. 8lbs dry ice + 2 bottle rubbing alcohol + air chisel = 2hrs - 12lbs - clean floor.

It can only help, and its not that expensive, 5 bucks max. The colder it is outside, the more life you get out of your dry ice.

I heard the dry ice and alcohol is the best. Is there any precaution I should take if I went this route?
