type r turbo

Default type r turbo

hey guys i have 97 ek with type r motor i want to turbo it . how many pounds can i boost what injectors do i need right now i have blox spec b cams do i keep these or go gsr cams

Thats a very broad question man, depends on the turbo as not all turbos are created equal and some will outflow a lot of others at the same PSI simply because I compressor size and flow rating.

If you are talking standard small kit sized turbo's like a Greddy 15g or similar, I would have to say 8 to 10 lbs max with a good tune, 310cc inhectors, and a good fuel pump. Emphasis on the tune though. The C5 motor is a high compression engine that will require a very spot on tune to avoid detonation and eventual death (sooner rather than later with something like this).

and ditch the blox cams...as a matter of fact sell your motor and take that and build a LS or b20. i wouldnt chance my R motor but thats just me.
