You will not be able to use your P05 civic ecu or the P73 type r ecu (without quite a few mods). Your best bet would be to get an OBD1 P28, P72, or even a P06 ecu and have it socketed so you can run a basemap that will allow you to get the car running. At that point it would be in your best interest to get the car tuned. Although this subject has been covered hundreds of times, I will get you started.
- B series transmission rear T bracket
- B series driver side mount as your 92 driver side mount is different (passenger side mount is the same as your d series mount
- B series axles, shift linkage
- B series USDM harness or modified D series harness (as a 92, your civic will be properly wired for VTEC to the passenger side shock tower. You will have to wire in a knock sensor from the ecu if you plan to run one (it can be eliminated when the ecu is socketed).
- radiator hose solution (b series hoses are too large in diameter for the civic radiator, although you can use screw type hose clamps and just tighten them down...also a 99 00 civic si rad would work).
- exhaust modification where the header/exhaust manifold bolts to the catalytic converter
- B series transmission rear T bracket

Re: Type r swap in 92 cx
-AC bracket with pulley from a '97 CR-V (to mount your old AC compressor on the B-motor)
-Engine harness from a 5-spd Integra GSR (preferably)
-P28 ECU chipped - Kenny did mine (user "turbogixxer" on this Forum, PM him)
-Radiator hoses (from a Del Sol VTEC if I recall correctly)
While at it, I also did the following:
- resurface flywheel, new clutch
- got injectors serviced by Rich from Cruzinperformance.com
- shifter bushings
- energy suspension motor mount insert kit
- Integra front knuckles + brakes
One word of advice (I wish I had known this): the ITR transmission has short *** gears. This is my DD and I do a lot of highway driving. 70-80mph in 5th gear @ 4k+rpm is driving me insane. If this is your DD, do yourself a favour and consider an LS 5th gear before you put everything together. That way you'll have nice short 1st-4th and a more humane 5th to cruise and save gas.
Other things like exhaust and intake are up to you, I have been doing a lot of research and wound up getting a used WS2 and installed it with a Vibrant Stealth muffler and Vibrant high-flow catalytic converter (metal core)... both 2.5". Intake-wise I am currently putting together a custom setup using a BPi Velocity stack + K&N filter. I should be dropping of the custom intake pipe to get powdercoated tomorrow and will post on here when it's on the car.
That's all I can remember for now. Good luck.

Run a '96 - '99 USDM Integra engine harness, there will be zero wiring to be done if you use that and an OBD1 ECU. For an ECU run a chipped OBD1 ECU (or the super, super rare OBD1 P73 ITR ECU, so rare I can't even find pics of it)

There are conflicting reports about their existence. If they do for sure exist they're super rare.

It doesn't let you use an OBD2 ECU, you'd still need a conversion harness for that. What it does do is allow you to run an OBD2 distributor, alternator and injectors without cutting and splicing anything. Normally you'd run a chipped OBD1 ECU. Because it's a '92 it's prewired for vtec from the ECU to the shock tower plugs.

Ur suggesting replacing the engine
Harness from the drivers side to the engine with a gsr obd 2 wiring harness, while keeping the under dash harness obd1?What about wiring the oxygen sensor...my cx is 1 wire oxy sensor, if i buy a 96-01 integra engine harness, will it fix tht problem to?
