can i use a oem type r lsd in my 99-00 si tranny? i search and did not find a anwser. someone told me the 99-00 si tranny has a differnt size ring gear on the diff and you can't mix the two.

they were right the ring gear is different.....it is my understanding that the Type R lsd will fit only in a Type R tranny or a GSR tranny....im not 100 percent on that though so if anyone else can help....please do

if i had the type r ring gear would it then work? they are both 4.4 fine drive so it seams like it would work.

it will work, all u need is a ring gear from a USDM or JDM type r tranny. I have a CTR LSD in my S4 tranny (USDM 99-00 si)

As above with an ITR ring gear the CTR/ITR lsd will work in a hydro b16a tranny. It'll need to be shimmed slightly different however. I have this mod done as well.

I've also heard a GSR ring gear will work but I can't confirm.
