type R lips got stolen

Re: type R lips got stolen (2000EM1)
i thought about that, but its really too much trouble
im thinkin bout putting super glue on the ends of the bolts when i put the new ones one
this way they'll really have to struggle to get them off and before the 2nd screw is even half way off the alarm will kick in

I was actually kidding... put some jb weld on the screws as you tighten them in. Of course this might get them to just rip the entire bumper off next time.

Re: type R lips got stolen (2000EM1)
I never understood why people put lips on. They either fly off after they take a beating, or people just steal them. Why not just buy a aftermarket bumper that has a lip built on it already? Oh yeah, that would be considered rice here on HT, whatever.

either way, it sucks some major *** that someone stole your ****. I just finished replacing stereo/window/tint/time and money after some lazy *** decided to break window and doorlocks just to get my system. I would love to kill that person.

try using those license plate screw things... the hex one with the circle in the middle... Even a regular hex wouldn't be able to loosen it...

Re: type R lips got stolen (hatch-E-vanish)
To the original poster... Four things: More sensitive alarm. Lock-Tite. Lock washers. Lock nuts. Done.
These combined would probably be a big enough of a pain in the *** to deter a lip theif and/or set your alarm off.

I avoid CF for this reason alone... The benefits from having it, just isn't worth paying-for and loosing it later on in my book. If people are seriously stealing abs and fg lips... you need to consider moving man. I've lived in some seriously bad areas w/ my hatch and I've never had anyone make an attempt on my lips alone (the entire car is another story).
