Default Which Type R Ecu should I use?

I am doing a Jdm Integra Type R B18C motor swap into a 92 EG hatch. I have a USDM Integra Type R ecu P73 now that I could use. Will this work with the OBD1? Or should I get a PR3 ecu? Just trying to save money if I can. Thanks for any help.

best bet would be to either use a jumper harness and keep the current ecu, or get a chipped p28.

Rather than paying for the overpriced stock ITR ECU, contact one of the sponsors and get a chipped P28 for your setup. I can guarantee you your car will run better and make more power with a good map from one of them instead of the stock ECU...

that's putting a heck of a lot of confidence in people you don't know... I have yet to see an OBD1 base map that will out perform the stock P73 that came with the engine. (I've tried and built many)
Of course after tuning the OBD1 setup is a different story.

OP: your USDM ITR ECU, is it a A04? if so it's almost worthless without removing the immobilizer. Or picking up the entire immobilizer setup out of a 00-01 integra and installing it in your civic, then having a dealership program the key to start the car. (serious pain)

JDM ITR ECUs basically run OBD1 code, it's a simple conversion from OBD1 to OBD2a if none of the emissions items are cared about, plus it will run the engine as honda intended right out of the box. (tuned OBD1 will run better but you'll have to have it tuned asap)
Depending on what year the swap is, P73-003 = 96-97, P73-013 = 98-99, P73-023 = 00-01. No real difference between the 013 and 023, identical numbers on the dyno.

as far as price, search a little. A JDM P73 can be had for the usual P28 price. If not less. And if the P73 comes with the swap it will cost you how even much it costs you for the conversion harness. (less than a chipped P28, certainly less than tuning costs)

Thanks to all for the good info. The ECU I have is a P73-A03 I was told it came out of a 2000 USDM Type R. Is that correct?

Quick backround I have had a few Type Rs but they were all bone stock. Now I am getting into the Civic/Type r swap (love those motors) to use on the track so I am trying to get this together quickly. The car will be at VIR in less than a month. My old 85 CRX Si is being retired as the race parts are hard to find and wicked expensive.
