Default TYPE R ECU

posting for a friend he has a good deal ahead of him with a bunch of type r motor stuff and he was wondering if a jspec type r ecu will work on his civic si with a b16. thanks

it will but i the engine may run rich.
i would get a chip ecu instead.
Stock motor or not?

i ran one on my b16 for a while...ran fine and with the heavy EK hatch i got it to 15.032's on a 90 degree day...so i'd say it runs the motor quite well with bolt-ons

on the typeR's and some of the Gsr's, acura installed a ignition immobilzer in the ecu in which only the keys made from honda/acura could start it using that ecu...its what i heard....
