yes they would not much but they have a longer lift and duration than the B16 cams and the vtec lobes are more aggressive, if your going to spend 350 on ITR cams why not go skunk2 stage 2 cams?? the ITR cams are equivelant to a mild stage 1

With stage 2's he will more than likely need to upgrade springs/retainers..plus he would need more compression to benefit from the stage 2's

The CTR and ITR have upgraded valve springs over the stock B16A2 to begin with. Using CTR cams will net you gain, but personally, if I had a B16 I would get a much heftier set of cams and valvetrain. Make your B16A2 eat a B16B. For quick compression get a Mugen head gasket (or spoon but I'd get the mugen) and have the head milled a few thousanths, if you don't want to swap pistons. Remember that if you mill the head you'll want to retard cam timing a couple of degrees, then advance ignition timing by a few degrees. Haha, I'm getting a little ahead of the topic here.

But if you're truly set on using Type-R cams in your stock B16A2, yes you will get gains, just remember the stock valvetrain's limits.

with the lack of torque in a b16, you would gain from upgrading the valve train and revving the **** out of it with a good set of cams.

you also gotta consider what you do with the car. are you keeping it na? going turbo? etc....

I only run the exhaust cam from the ITR. The lobes aren't much different on the intake side from the b16a2's

Isn't it all the way around dude? The exhaust side is identical, and the intake side is what is more aggresive on Type R?

this is what we put in both my brother's ls/vtec and a gsr motor and did have noticable gains. good way to do a reliable upgrade.

So what you guys are saying is, its better to just swap out the intake cam since all the power is on that cam?

If you want to do it right, find yourself a ITR/CTR valvetrain and either the 99-00 itr cams or a set of ctr cams. If you find just an intake cam that should be good too since the exhaust cams are so close that the gains arent really noticeable.

Are there any down side to just putting a intake cam without changing out the valvetrain. I wonder cause im always a thumbs up for power. And I have a B16 with a greddy turbo setup. Lemme know what you guys think?

You can, and you will have a slightly higher powerband, but don't rev past the stock valvetrain's limits, or what the stock rev limiter was.
