Type R 5 lug brake conversion
Sup all, I was wondering what is required for a type r 5 lug brake duisc conversion on a 97 Civic.
I figured it owuld consist of front:
Spindle/hub
lower control arm
upper control arm
caliper brake
axles
rear:
trailing arm set with the arms and all
caliper brake
e-brake
which type of master cylinder would I need? I have a non-abs
proportioning valve?
now am I missing anything else? Would I need brake hoses also?
Lastly, if I just do a rear disc conversion (4 lug) can I use any 94-01 Integra rear trailing arm set? With non abs master cylinder and proportioning valve?

Re: Type R 5 lug brake conversion (IronShogun)
For the 5 lug setup you just need the front spindles, rotors and calipers... For the master cylinder, use a gsr or itr... itr is best. For the rear you use the trailing arms, calipers, rotors and disk brake e brake calipers... You should use a itr on non abs integra proportioning valve, on mine i had to get new brake lines from the master to the valve because of different locations of the fittings... i also used new lines from the valve to the front and rear because i deleted the abs pump from my integra. Hope that helps some

If you do a 5 lug you can just use the hubs from the front as long as it has the brake lines already. Also beware if you have a jdm itr 5 lug because you will need 36mm axles. If you use a USDM itr 5 lug or the JDM ctr 5 lug they use 32mm axles which is compatible with either you stock d or even your swapped b, whatever one you have. Also with the rears all you need is the trailing arm and brake lines. You can use your stock lca's. You will have to just a set of 2000 si brake cables along with a 2000 si proportioning valve(for better performance).
If you do just the integra 4lug rear disk conversion just use the trailing arm along with the 2000 si parts i just mentioned. But whatever route you plan on going you should just a booster and master cylinder from either 98 and up integra or a 2000 si. Any of those will be good. Good luck

Re: Type R 5 lug brake conversion (Cjdcivic)
Good looking out to both you fellas. Also tho, if I use a itr master cylinder wouldn't it be automatically abs which would have abs entry holes for the master cylinder?

im not aware of any difference between abs and non abs master cylinders... only thing would be the brake lines that go from the proportioning valve to the abs pump... the lines from the master to the prop valve are the same
