type of honda/acura?
ok, my g/f has recently got a 93 civic ex. i am starting to like the versitility of the honda/acura engines. also, the price is a lot cheaper. so i am starting to look at honda/acura for my tuner car. what is probably the best type of honda/acura to get for around 3000 dollars?
i want to turbocharge it heavily eventually, but start out probably below 10psi. long term goal is to break into 9s and keep it street legal. that is in the distant future though.
boost is my major concern right now. i have looked at quite a few topics already about the engine differences but nobody really says anything about boosting. i just want to know which car handles boost best?

Try searching in the F/I forum. There is alot of info you just have to use the search button correctly...also remember to search the "archives".
The LS (B18B) is a pretty common choice for boost or if you want the VTEC, alot of people go with the GSR (B18C1).

thx i tried searching, but god knows you never find what you want when you search j/k. the only problem with the integras is the cheapest one i've found around here is like 7000 dollars. i'm a college student those prices are pretty steep for me at my current state. which will also push back boosting even further.

yes 9's i'm not kidding, that was my goal for the dsm and i'm not dropping it just because i'm switching cars. that is going to be in the distant future when i get out of college and i can retire it from daily driver status. right now 11's is probably where i would stop for a daily driver.

no matter what kind of car your looking at, your probably going to be looking at doing a swap of some kind. so start looking for a car to use as just a "shell". you can get alot for around $3K. i would personally look at a 88-91 crx or civic, you can get a pretty nice one for that kind of money. or look at a 92-95 civic hatchback, try and find one w/ a blown motor so its cheaper. also check out sites like hmotorsonline.com and look at prices of motors so you can keep that in mind.

That's very unlikely to happen... run 9s and be street legal? I don't think so. The Hondas I've seen that run 9s are all track cars, none of which are street legal.

You have too many choices for someone to tell you what to do with your car. Best bet would be to search around the message boards here, do some research and read like hell. Posting general questions like which B18 should I get will not get you too far. You're better off doing a search and reading whats already been covered.
