Two different frost whites?
A guy I know has a frost white 93dx hatch. I parked next to him (92 CX frost white hatch) and the whites were obviously different.
Then we came to the conclusuion that I have a Canadian CX. Does this sound right? Canadian hatches use different mixes? Both door jams read NH538-4.
I also bought some NH538-4 paint and I used it to touch up my rear quarter panels and it is a clearly different color.
CLIFF NOTES: Do Canadian Civics use different mixes although they are the same code?

My paint is in very good shape. It was owned by an old lady before me.
My paint had more of a creme color to it
EDIT: Heres a pic

No...speedinghatch is right.
There are two different frost whites. I have a 1992 CX (Canadian) as well.
The difference is one has clear coat and the other doesn't!

'Champion White Clearcoat NH-0' is Championship White. Only Type-R's had this color.

Re: Two different frost whites? (Ejay Six)
they look like they are 2 different colors becuase they were painted at different times and painted with different guns and atmosphere and such....... fading and clear also has an effect on this......
this is y when body shops paint a panel they blend on to another panel so people dont notice that it was repaired......... you can never match the same paint even if it came out of the same can becuase the technique and pressure of the spray gun also have effects..........

There are in fact two different paint codes for the Frost White. I found this out when looking for paint to touch up a couple spots on mine. If I go to the shop on Monday, I'll get both codes for you.

its not because its from canada. like 777sC said before, they were painted in different areas, out of different paint batches with different guns by two different people and in different atmospheres. there are many factors that would affect the paint color, you can never perfectly match one color to another.
honda also has different paint codes for some colors, it depends on the factory and year it was made.

Body shops have a hell of a time matching paints. The color code is just like
a loose guide that they follow.

Re: Two different frost whites? (elwood)
i got a 1995 civic EX frost white, there is only one code for Ej1 for frost white but honda has like a few different shades of white ( frost white is a more pure white color) i'm having my car painted the nissan altima white(2004)

I've had my car repainted a couple of times, its VSM and every time I got to get the paint for it there are 3 different codes for the same color. Or at least I thought so, but since they have Canadian models, USDM models, and JDM models, there are usually 2 to 3 variants of the same color. Thats about all I could come up with. Hope that helps ya.
