I have the ones that come with the 6th Gen EX's.....up on the mirror covers.

They are hardly noticable.

Most of the component sets that I have seen come with surface and flush mounting kits. Not a bad deal though.

That's a pretty good deal for brand new ones. I got lucky and found a set at the junk yard for $15 from a 98 EX. Tech note: 6th gen tweeters will fit 5th gen door panels that came with factory tweeter holes....for those that didn't know.

Yeah but the speakers suck, who wants them?

I put some jls in and flush mounted them. They look and sound damn good.

The stock tweeters have horrible placement. They sound like butt. I know somebody that put a lexan shield on the near side (closest to the passengers) of the tweeter, and says that it helped immensly with imaging.

Do they? I have them in my 7th gen and I think they're OK. Maybe that's because my car is EDM........

I have them in my 98 EX coupe. They suck. My fiancé has a 98 EX sedan w/o the tweeters and her stock stereo sounds quite a bit better. My stereo seems to distort a lot easier than hers does. Is it possiblie that the tweeter kit actualy sounds worse than the non-tweeter kit stereo?

the ones you bought are the mirror cover ones? I have an lx so a 4dr sedan too and I wanted to try the mirror cover mounts so I don’t have to do any drilling in my car. How do you have tweeters installed?

PM the user, you are asking about a post that is 15 years old.

User very likely doesn't even frequent these boards anymore.
