Turning circle/steering ratio question
A few questions about steering "responsiveness"
(I hesitate to use "reponsiveness" since ppl tend to think about tyre sidewall flex, spring rates, etc)
What I'm wondering about is the turning circle and steering ratios e.g. I've heard DC2s have a higher gear ratio steering column than EG hatches (i.e. fewer turns lock to lock). Can anyone confirm this?
Also, I find my EG6 has a very large turning circle. I'm thinking the 16" wheels I'm using (came with the car 2nd hand) are running the wrong offset and is affecting the size of the turning circle, or perhaps it's the suspension setup (I'm thinking change in caster affects the size of the turning circle). Any ideas?
Cheers

Re: Turning circle/steering ratio question (ckkl)
I've had the same question and still don't really understand some of it. All I do know is that "steering ratio" is the degrees of steering wheel turn versus the resulting degrees of front wheel turn.
These are some scans from the different Honda's as marked. Perhaps it can help.

Is there any way to change the number of times that the steering wheel needs to be turned to achieve full lock??? Gotta love those rally cars

Re: Turning circle/steering ratio question (97GSR Hatch)
i've asked my auto teacher about that, and he said only way is to change the whole rack and pinion system.
