Turbo sound?

Default Turbo sound?

i was behind a car today and when he shifted gears there was a sound that kinda sounded like it had turbo kinda like a "swish" noise what the crap was it i wonder? he my have turbo but it was on a late model civic.

it must be turbo.

lol..no the sound is from the BOV(blow off vale/bypass valve) and thats where u would hear the sound from, doesnt really matter wat turbo he has..it all about the bov

it was most likely his blow-off valve, to release the pressurized air being forced into the engine coming from the turbocharger.

but he could have one of those ebay "turbo sound" things.

edit: why are there so many trolls lately?

Please tell me that you didnt join HT just to ask this question right?

It wouldnt matter what model civic it was, considering that none of them have ever come turbocharged stock. But yes, that "noise" you heard was from his BOV.

Yeah i just came here to make one post ! forget about the cash i just spent on a 95 Vtec Honda Civic, but was just wondering what made that noise. i just read a good post about installing a turbo.. ebay thing ? what is it called? now you guys have my attentionon what the hell it was.... i want to turbo my honda.
