what is wrong with it. i mean that turbo alone is worth $500. so is the manifold bad. is it not strong? have you had any personal experiences w/ them?

search under ss auto chrome manifold, in the archives, 98% of the people that bought them it has cracked HORRENDOUSLY.

and that turbo is small as ****

and the wastegate looks like ****, and thats somthing you dont wnat to go cheep on. if it malfunctions, your motor gets overboosted.

Still, I heard they changed their design a bit, and I haven't heard anything recently bad about them. They sell like mad, so you'd think you'd hear more complaining then what you see. I believe it's the luck of the draw with ssautochrome, you either are fine, or you're not. It's up to y ou, and I hear for low boost apps it's not soo bad

yeah do so and you know what? Majority of those posts are NOT SS AUTOCHROMES!
Guess what else? - There are a few other brands that utilizes this same design and are falsely accused of being autochrome.
Given yes I have seen pics of the autochrome failing but there are also stories of it being put on a c5 making 400whp.
I've taken up this whole afternoon researching because I'm going to purchase one that is used, and works very well froma reputable guy. I'll just reinforce the turbo with a brace and it already comes with a flex.

I say go for this kit. I think it's a great deal!

No name wasegate...NOT a good idea. A manifold that is PROVEN to crack and a turbo that is undersized for your motor. Stay away from that crap and save up and get this http://www.full-race.com/turbokits.html

The turbo's are no name,, if they were selling a good turbo than you would be their advertisment.. so why wouldn't they put their name on it. the wastegate's are no name and if you get a boost spike it will blow your motor..

If you get a turbo that does not have the right angle fins than you will have slow spool up and your car will not be much faster.. i made this mistake before and i could tell you from experience,,,you get what you pay for
