Default Turbo H22 Coupe?

I'm still trying to decide on which engine to swap, as i'm getting ready to deploy it'll be after I get back, so i've got a few months.
But I was just wondering how much room for improvment you have after the H22 swap?
Mileage?
Reliability?
And I'm wondering after putting that engine in the coupe, how much space will be left for a turbo, or s/c. I'm leaning more towards a turbo, but, if I must an s/c. The car will just be a weekend warrior. And a daily driver.
And i'm wondering if prelude type sh, springs and shocks will be sufficient. To keep my car from sagging too much. And how well they'd be with handling.
Average cost post swap?
And the size exhaust i'll need to buy to bolt up to it. Or weld up.

And before I get flamed, I did a search but didn't turn up too much about a turbo h22 civic coupe. Which was my primary question

Supercharger, no. It won't fit in a Civic and barely fits in the Prelude. Turbo can be done but you might want to talk to golden eagle if you plan on boosting very much at all, very weak cly.

also heard that you need to resleeve if you get aftermarket pistons....

some weird coating on the cylinder walls...

cool, so resleeve, and forged pistons are a must? I don't really plan on boosting more then 12 psi, do any of you know the max boost on stock internals? Also, how much do you think i'll get to the wheels with a RevHard stage 2 kit?

u dont need sleeving new pistons any of that junk if ur gonna boost 6-7 psi, just some decent fuel maangement, even a hondata for extra safety, and make a custom one, half the price ofr the same or more power

Yeah, what's a good BOV to prevent overboost, my friends Type SH fried piston rings because it spiked.

Exactly. Even with a low boost setup, the rings and ringlands are known to blow on the H22's. So the only alternative is to get forged pistons. But then that requires new sleeves. And then the ball starts rolling from there!

Just be prepared to rebuild if you're running on stock internals.

turbo h22 in a couple would be wicked. I may turbo my h22 but I'm wanting to stick all motor for more sleeper, and auto-x the thing to prove other points and enjoy it more that way

as for turboing the h22. the h22 block is an exotic block that is extremely close piston to wall clearance. they have fiber reinforced sleeves and after market pistons will destroy the sleeves from friction after a few months of driving.

on stock bottom end, it'll handle about 6-7 PSI with stock pistons and rings.

good luck

Don't bother swapping an H22 and then turboing it.

That is wayyy to much power to handle on the street. Especially if it's build.

I'd run a stock H22 on the street, and throw some nitrous on it for the track.

Just me.
