my a/c blows out hot air, i turboed my car during the winter so i never tried to turn the a/c on until today but now when i try to use the a/c its like i turned on the heater. any ideas what could be happening? the thing is during the winter i used the a/c as a defroster but never noticed that it was blowing hot cuz i left it on hot anyways. its a T25 with hks manifold

and if that doesnt work, try using some kind of high temp (1200F min.) sleeving for the AC hoses and/or that funky turbine heatshield that DEI (i think its them) makes, i know Jegs sells it

Check to see if your charge pipe is rubbing a hole through the a/c lines that come from the evaporator.(take charge pipe off) Happens every time. This in turn will slowly leak all of your freon out. replace the line(s) and the drier, put on a 30 min vacuum, add dye (approx 1oz), charge system to specs (Pass side shock tower sticker.) turn car and a/c on. Let it run for approx 10 min. (special note: DO NOT PLACE HAND IN OR AROUND THE COMPRESSOR). Evacuate the system, record the amount you evacuated and compare it to the amount that was charged. Now, put on your UV glasses and turn on your ultraviolet light. go around the entire system checking for UV dye. If none found, recharge the system to specs and enjoy your a/c. If you find traces of dye, repair the leak.


If you do not have access to a machine, or have the tools to do this, DO NOT mess with it. Take it to a licensed mechanic with the proper equipment.

Suck it up and pay for the work. A/C is not something a hobbyist should mess with.
