turbo b16 issue
Okay, i have a turbo b16 with a gsr head. The car ran great up until today. I cleaned up the engine bay from where the previous owner had half assed some of the wiring, rewired vtec and the fan. Cleaned up the passanger side harness where he had "tucked" it, or his sad attempt to. And mounted the resistor box that he had left dangling (running dsm 450's). Well after all of this was done i went to start the car and it ran like complete crap, would not idle and running RICH as hell. i changed the cap and rotor, and checked the plugs, fouled out. Put new ones in and drove it for 5 min and the fouled out to. The car spits and sputters and just does NOT run like it did before. The only code im throwing is a TPS code, which i am going to fix. But it did throw that code before. the only thing that i moved was the map sensor (not throwing code) and another sensor which im not sure what it was, evap maybe, but again, not getting a code for that one. Any ideas on what could of changed and making the car run the way it is or troubleshooting steps.
Car is on 60 psi of fuel pressure, running 2 step colder plugs and IS tuned.
Also, what voltage should i get at the harness for the injectors, im getting like 12.2ish.

Re: turbo b16 issue
u sure you didnt kink the vacuum line to the map sensor (or are you running the stock TB mounted map sensor)? Sometimes when sensors are malfunctioning it doesnt throw a code bceause the data its receiving from the sensor is still in spec. i had this same issue with my map sensor. One of the pins from the conversion harness was broken (and it was the power for the MAP), and since it wasnt getting power, the ECU was reading 10.0PSI of boost all the time, and thus it was running rich as hell.

Re: turbo b16 issue
the line is not kinked, but i will put it back how it was before and see how it runs. The other thing i noticed is the guy who had it before hardwired the fuel pump because the main relay was going bad....i cant believe some of the things he did.

LOL hardwired o dear. But your problem does seem to be map sensor related. Are you sure that you didnt switch the TPS and map sensor plugs by accident? because they are the same plug.

Re: turbo b16 issue
the vaccum hose that i used to replace the other hose was just loose enough that it leaked and causes it to not read right. I repalced it and issue fixed, thanks!
