Default Turbo or all Motor?

I have a 99 ex with the d16y8 with the usually mods full intake system, header, catback, vtec controller, etc. I was wondering would it be cheaper in the long run to go all motor or put a small t-25 turbo on and run like 8 pounds of boost with out blowing anything.

D16 = turbo to gain the best power.

FI is the only way to go on a D series motor. I've had mulitple turbo setups and multiple NA setups, and turbo is much more satisfying. Cheaper to go faster as well.

Depends on what you use the car for?

True, however N/A is very expensive on a D series.

I really don't think it does in this case. Turbo will be cheaper than truly going all motor, and you'll get a much more powerful engine. You'll be able to use it as a daily driver, track or strip car too.

Greddy 15g kit. I have it and like it. Great for a daily driver and occasional track *****.

EDIT: And this is on my daily driver with about 130k that gets between 16-18k a year put on it.

Dog go turbo you can go turbo for about $500 to $1000 if you use DSM parts use the 2gen blow off and any t25 make sure there is not a lot of play in the turbo shaft and then you just need a honda hx manifold and a fmu and a little odds and ends but in the end it will be bad *** "I have ran 20 psi on a sohc d16z6 for about 12 weeks let me tell you that **** is fast>

B series or D series you need a turbo to go fast IMO. Don't know any all motor B or D series cars that are streetable that can run with a car that is actually fast.

explain to me why he cannot run 20psi...is it becasue of sleve movemnet or just u think he will kill the rings or what????

I have read that the sleves are very strong on these motors...i only let the kids out here push 12psi on pumpgass...they all have large 16g's and one kid has been pushing 19psi(his own choise) for a long *** time...we use propane injection to fuel these cars and get ride of detonation...they seem to have no probs

why do you guys say he cant do 20psi???
I have noticed that alot of people on this board say stuff with haveing no experiance of evidence to back up their statments

Ever opened a D series motor? The rods are tiny. I'm AMAZED that he hasn't managed to snap a rod or a rod bolt yet. I boost all day every day at 8 psi on a stock D16y7 and would like to know what clutch he runs. What experience do you have to prove that 20 psi is safe?
